JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Human Resources Generalist performs human resources related duties at the professional level and carries out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: benefits administration, training, employee relations, affirmative action, salary administration, employment, and employee services. Ensures compliance with legal and corporate guidelines.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Serve as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators. Coordinate transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums and plan administration. Evaluate and revise internal processes to reduce costs and increase efficiency. Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes. Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations. Ensure timeliness and accuracy of required reporting and fees. Leads annual open enrollment including communication of benefit plans and design to hourly and salary employees.
  • Coordinate daily benefits processing. Handle enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims, rollovers, QDROs, distributions, loans, hardships and compliance testing. Oversee maintenance of employee benefits files, maintain group benefits database and update employee payroll records.
  • Provide input on employee benefits plans and vendors to identify those that present the best value. Recommend and implement new benefits programs. Examine possible plan designs and benefits cost changes as compared to current benefits, evaluating the use, services, coverage, effectiveness, cost, plan experience and competitive trends in benefits programs.
  • Monitor administrative costs of benefits programs and recommend cost containment strategies, including alternative methods for administration and funding. Prepare budgetary recommendations and assist in the monitoring, verifying and reconciling of budgeted funds.
  • Provide customer service support to internal and external customers. Develop communication tools to enhance understanding of the company's benefits package. Design and distribute materials for benefits orientations, open enrollment and summary plan descriptions. Provide training and support to group benefits associates, home office associates and the field staff.
  • Represents the company for any unemployment claims.
  • Maintains Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports from database.
  • Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 report annually; maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations. Submits Vets-100 report annually.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

REQUIRED

  • Knowledge of Human Resources policies and practices
  • Knowledge of basic safety practices and expectations
  • Ability to do advanced administrative work
  • Ability to effectively communicate in verbal and written formats to all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to utilize computers and software packages including: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to represent organization at various events and functions

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or related discipline
  • 3 years of experience in human resources and/or benefits administration
  • Understanding of computers, software and database management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

The Quality Engineer is responsible representing the customers’ expectations while ensuring the highest possible quality and consistency of Bergstrom’s products and processes.Reviews quality standards, tolerances, and engineering changes.Evaluates engineering changes for rework of parts and subassemblies. Analyzes engineering specifications and manufacturing processes, develops test plans and helps validate automated testing tools.Investigates and analyzes quality problems, recommends solutions and ensures corrections are made.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Will have a fundamental understanding of quality philosophies, principles, systems, methods, tools, standards, organizational and team dynamics, customer expectations and satisfaction, supplier relations and performance, leadership, training, interpersonal relationships, improvement systems and professional ethics.

  • Will have a fundamental understanding of a quality system and its development, documentation and implementation to domestic and international standards or requirements.

  • Will have a basic understanding of the audit process including types of audits, planning, preparation, execution, reporting results and follow-up.

  • Participates as a lead auditor in the internal business system audits.Coordinates customer and third party audits.

  • Ability to develop and implement quality programs, including tracking, analyzing, reporting and problem solving.

  • Will be able to plan, control and assure product and process quality in accordance with quality principles, which include planning processes, material control, acceptance sampling and measurement systems.

  • Will have basic knowledge of reliability, maintainability, and risk management, including key terms and definitions, modeling, systems design, assessment tools and reporting.

  • Will have a thorough understanding of problem-solving and quality improvement tools and techniques. This includes knowledge of management and planning tools, quality tools, preventive and corrective actions, and how to overcome barriers to quality improvements.

  • Will be able to acquire and analyze data using appropriate standard quantitative methods across a spectrum of business environments to facilitate process analysis and improvement

  • Acts as the customer representative, ensuring customer business/quality requirements are understood through the organization.Establish relationships with customers’ quality, purchasing, and engineering departments to respond to product changes and product quality issues.

  • Will prepare, educate and ensure compliance with procedures and instructions written in English.

  • Solid knowledge of GD&T.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Engineer achievement preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or Quality Assurance or a related field and a minimum of 5 years’ experience or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • In addition, must possess strong analytical skills and experience with: PC, peripherals, JDE or other MRP systems
  • Gauges and inspection
