Bergstrom Chairman Dave Rydell to participate in forum on Rockford’s economy

March 10, 2016

Dave Rydell, Chairman of Bergstrom Inc., will participate in a forum titled "How did Rockford’s economy come to be?” on Sunday, March 13, organized by the Midway Village Museum.

The event is part one of a two-part forum about Rockford’s economy organized by the Midway Village Museum. The March 13 event, which begins at 2 p.m., will feature a panel of individuals who experienced Rockford’s economy firsthand in the 1970s and 1980s. In addition to Rydell, other panelists include Dick Leighton, retired CFO, Barber Colman; Prof. Robert Evans, Rockford University; and Glen Turpoff, retired Executive Director, Northern Illinois Building Contractors Association.

The panelists will discuss the forces of change that have impacted the Rockford economy, separating the changes wrought by a global economy and those that were internal.

The second part of the series, "Where is Rockford’s economy headed,” will take place Wednesday, March 23 at 6:30 p.m.
