Bergstrom Inc.’s Alan Leupold re-elected to MACS Board of Directors for third time

Alan Leupold, technical consultant and retired director of test and development lab at Bergstrom Inc., has been re-elected to the Mobile Air Conditioning Society’s (MACS) Worldwide Board of Directors.
This is Leupold’s third two-year term on the board, but it will be his first term serving as a Bergstrom retiree. During his first two terms, he provided positive direction for MACS’ future, especially for the off-road and heavy duty truck sector training sessions and MACS convention growth with emphasis on proper servicing procedures.
"It’s an honor to be re-elected and have the opportunity to work with the brilliant team at MACS,” said Leupold. "I’m looking forward to furthering our great industry and helping provide the training resources needed to serve customers across the globe.”
Founded in 1981, MACS Worldwide is the leading non-profit trade association for total vehicle climate and thermal management.
Leupold has been an active leader in the heating and cooling industry for more than 46 years.His work with MACS began in 1995 as a presenter for the first Off-Road session. His accomplishments include several MACS Technical Leadership Awards and the Pioneer Award in 2009.
As a technical consultant, Leupold works on design projects that require testing and validation. In his former role at Bergstrom, Leupold led test and development lab facilities, equipment and personnel. He also supported all new system designs.
He holds 14 patents for myriad HVAC-related inventions and many different products including service techniques, cab filtration and pressurization, automatic temperature control features, A/C system protection from extreme refrigerant pressures and more.
He is also dedicated to serving his community. He has been active in many community service groups, including local government, youth education and youth sports coaching. He also served on the United Way committee at Bergstrom.
