Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4pm
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Program Manager coordinates and integrates activities across multiple functional departments. They monitor and report on a project from initiation through launch to minimize risk to timing, costs and compliance with customer and industry requirements (e.g. ISO 9001 requirements).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Review the project proposal or plan to determine the timing plan, budget and resources required for the project and report the findings to management.
- Coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure the project progresses on schedule and within the prescribed budget.
- Facilitate project communication within the team, ensuring the team is aware of status, action items, timelines, etc.
- Work with the team and coordinates the resolution of significant project issues in a timely fashion and manages the cost side of projects to ensure goals are met and risks are minimized.
- Report project status to management, especially keeping the leadership informed of significant project issues.
- Apply and enforce project management standards and the continuous improvement of these standards (reporting, key documents, gate reviews, etc.).
- Maintain an awareness of new and emerging technologies and their potential applications.
- Identify customer requirements and assures the fulfillment of any obligations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organization, time management and project management skills
- Keep commitments and deliver under pressure
- Ability to travel 10% of the time
PREFERRED:
- Project Management Certificate (PMP)
- Project management experience desired; must be detail and task-oriented
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of five years of related experience or training
- High level of computer proficiency, especially in MS Office Suite and MS Project
- Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from internal or external customers
- Ability to effectively present information to top management and external customers
- Proven success in Program/Project Management
