Senior Software and Electrical Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Senior Software and Electrical Engineer will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the development of automotive HVAC control systems and devices, including ECU's, sensors, actuators, etc. The position will require the Senior Software and Electrical Engineer to provide technical direction for both internal and external customers and the ability to plan and engage project development resources to meet corporate commitments, including requirements development, resource estimation, resource planning, electronic and software design, etc. This position also requires the Senior Software and Electrical Engineer to maintain appropriate product development documentation and deliver robust products in a timely manner.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Interface with global Engineering teams and assist in developing automotive components, including Electrical System Design, Electronic circuit design, firmware design and software design.
- Assist in the management of product development through the complete application life cycle (ALM) from concept to obsolescence. Including requirement definition, design and develop product validation strategy, product design, product development, oversee implementation of product validation, product release and maintenance and implantation of corrective action.
- Adhere to the company quality procedures and actively participate in the corporate New Product Development Process (PDP).
- Integrate with a team of Engineers with mixed skills and capabilities and assist in development, testing and validation utilizing appropriate programming languages, IDE's, dSpace, HIL, Simulator, industry standard practices and computer system architectures.
- As required provide appropriate technical support for vendors and customers, including sales inquiries and technical demonstrations.
- Provide appropriate project status reports both verbally and written.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Active project management participation in product development projects.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Experience with product development process, i.e.. Waterfall, Agile, V-Model ISO 26262, etc.
- Experience developing both digital and instrument analog circuitry.
- Experience with embedded microprocessor developments both firmware and electronics, including Microchip, ST Micro, Atmel, NXP, etc.
- Experience developing software , control systems and electronics.
- Experience using root cause analysis techniques, i.e. 8D, etc.
- Experience planning projects and resource allocation.
- Experience developing automotive HVAC control systems.
- Experience with the following programming languages C,, C++, Visual C++, Python, JAVA, HTM, etc.
- Experience with IDE's, including Visual Studio, Eclipse, Android, MPLAB, S32Design Studio, etc.
- Experience with Automotive communication system, including CAN J1939, UDS, KWP2000.
- Experience with ASPICE ISO/IEC 15504 software improvement and capability determination.
- Experience with HIL testing environment, including dSpace, Vector CANtech tools, etc.
- Experience with modeling control system, including MatLab, Simulink, LMS, etc.
- Experience with electronic circuit development tools, i.e. PSpice, Altima, etc.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Engineering or Scientific Bachelor's Degree. For example, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Physics, etc. and a minimum of 5 years of experience within Automotive/Aerospace product development and manufacturing environment or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Highly desirable minimum 10 years of experience developing automotive controls.
