Bergstrom Inc. adds workplace care partners to employee benefits package

Bergstrom Inc., a leading designer and manufacturer of cab climate systems for commercial trucks, off-highway machines, military vehicles, specialty vehicles and niche automotive markets, has added an innovative employee perk to its benefits package – workplace care partners.

The new employee care service, which will be provided through a Dallas-based company called Marketplace Chaplains, is available for free to all Bergstrom employees and family members.

Workplace care partners offer counseling to those in need – they just do it in the workplace. The caregivers perform dozens of services ranging from crisis intervention to workplace consultation, hospital visits, weddings and funerals, all at no cost to the individual employee or their family member.

"Providing this service to our employees just makes sense,” said Bergstrom President and CEO Jack Shaffer. "Our employees are our biggest business asset, so we want them to be as happy and healthy as possible. This is one way of showing our team members that we truly care about their health and the health of their families.”

Marketplace Chaplains was founded by former Baptist General Convention of Texas employee Gil Stricklin. It includes more than 2,800 care partners serving in 46 states and six countries working with countless different types of businesses and organizations, including factory settings, warehouse floors and corporate offices.
